I am hoping you may be able to steer me in the right direction regarding making contact with members of the Thai community in Perth.
This is in a social context rather than business. I have spent some hours on the various WA Thai / linked sites, the friends club may be business linked, the '' newsletter '' stated it was the least preferred option. I am reluctant to join Facebook link. I live locally in Perth, mature age person, self employed. I realise the websites i viewed are mainly involved with Thailand primarily through business, but I am hoping this may direct me toward meeting Thais in Perth in a social setting. Are there any social events upcoming? who can I contact through websites to inform me of this? Is there an active Thai / Aust. friendship / social club in Perth?
Thanks for your email and your permission to post your query to this forum so we can (try to) help many people.
We already have a this question answered in the forum ... here is the link
As a result of our chat on the phone I was able to make a variety of improvements
1. The website www.friends.auswathai.com - it now has a message on the front/home page to make it clearer what the friends page is about. We host our friends concept within 3rd party sites so we have no control. When it's free we have to accept what we get.. there always going to be some idiots but don't stop you achieving your goals.
2. our WA Thai community website www.wat.austhai.biz - we have added a special common on the ome page about how to contact the thai community.
3. I checked google search .. if you enter "how do I make contact with thai Perth WA" it will present the link directly to the forum link above
we are constantly and enthusiastically updating and enhancing the various websites becuase we know we have good ideas .. it just takes a while for people to believe..
The idea of Auswathai was created was the brainchild of a friendship between an aussie and a Thai in 2008. We are privately funded and enjoy our freedoom.
The Subiaco Petanque Club in Perth is hosting the PWA State Triples Petanque Championship on Saturday afternoon and Sunday, 21 & 22 April 2012. Being a sport in which the Thai people excel at in competitions such as the SEA games, it would be worth a visit to the Palms in Subiaco. That's the best way to meet people; personal contact in a friendly sporting/social environment and by becoming involved in petanque provides that opportunity.
On the weekend 21 - 22 April 2012 two Thai Australian juniors teamed up with a French Australian junior to win the PWA State Junior Triples Championship, held at the Subiaco Petanque Club.
Congratulation to all. Maybe it might encourage further Thai Australian juniors to take up the game.
