On Saturday 3 April 2010, I went to the Subiaco football stadium to watch an Australian Football League match. The Australian Football League (AFL) is the premier national football competition in Australia. The two opponents on that day were West Coast and Port Adelaide. It was very interesting to watch, and I learned a few things – in this game, the players can be use both their hands and feet.
Something I admired was that the Australians are peaceful – there were no quarrels during the match!
It was quite big event – there were 30,000 spectators in the stadium!!!!
it is not like Soccer nor Rugby, you could say it's a combination of the two codes - it's very fast, physical (a contact sport) and high scoring game.
The league is National, teams are based in each state of Australia. The games are played between Feb and September
In Perth, West Australia we have boast two (2) teams
West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers and they share the home ground stadium called "Subiaco Oval" or something similar (they rename the stadium to satisify sponsors)
here is a video clip of game
