I'm very proud to have so many wonderful Thai friends aspects of their culture.
This video sums up the feeling!!!
The buddhism culture of kindness to others and the Thai culture of family and respect for elders is incredible. These elements are sadly lacking in our Western culture I hope we can re build Comminity values.. We do not inherit the land from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.
Around 800,000 Australians visit Thailand every year, most rush through the tourism facade, that's a start, maybe more will go the next step beyond the tourism facade and build friendships, exchange some culture. We can all learn something from someone... don't believe everything you read in the media!
WHAT DID I LEARN FROM THAI CULTURE? Empathy..(understanding and entering into another's feelings)
everyone (Thai) apologies, regardless of fault and lots of smiles.. so I can understand why there is little confrontation or violence and no Professional Indemnity Insurance. in Western culture .. we have a fear that saying sorry will be an admission of liability
www.auswathai.com - our websites help Aussie Travel Thailand and Thai travel West Australia
on our website we have a sub-site called "friends" club, it includes Hospitality club so you can meet people form another country for friendship and help host you around the area.. it's a great culture....
whats next Songkran 2010 - April. AusWaThai is tour hosting about 20 people from W.A. to Phuket for the Songkran Festival in April 2010, then onto Bangkok. Here is the article
