We recently took some clients there from Bangkok and this is a short description of the day: This trip costs about 3,350 baht / 4 persons: - 1,500 (to rent a taxi with driver all day) - 1,100(tickets for 4 people) - 300 (to get the taxi into Ancient City) - 300 (to rent a golf car for an hour, but after that we used the taxi we had hired to move inside the site) - 150 (food and drinks for 3 people)
*8.00 am: We left the hotel. It took 45 mins to get to Ancient City.Traffic is bad in the morning. *8.45 - 8.55am: We got to The Ancient City. Went to buy tickets. *8.55 - 9.30am: We had coffee and pineapple cookies at the coffee shop and relaxed. *9.30am - 12.30pm: We visited the site and took many pictures. *12.30-01.00 pm: We visited the Floating Market and had lunch Noodle soup in a typical Thai boat next to a beautiful canal. We then went shopping in the old Thai market where you can enjoy old wooden houses, shops surronded by beautiful trees. *1.00- 2.30 pm: We visited some more, (walked up the main hill to enjoy an incredible view of the site and of Bangkok. Really beautiful and unforgetable. You can actually see the famous Rama 8 bridge in Bangkok from there. We took many pictures and headed back home.
It's a great day out not far from Bangkok. Anyone who goes there would say "incredible". Ninety square miles filled with typical Thai architecture, art and flaura. There are also a few lakes. You can find great artefacts and meet the people who make them. You can also talk to the people who are refurbishing and restoring the monuments in a pure Thai style. The team leader's daughter is actually studying and living in Melbourne, it's a small world isn'it?
