The Thai festival Perth 2009 is a biennial event is supported by The Royal Thailand Embassy located on Russel Square, northbridge, Pert on Sunday 20th September 2009. The festival is an exciting event that caters to members of the local, statewide, and international Thai community.
The festival aims to promote the Thai culture, food, music, arts, tourism and tradition, to bulid a stronger relationship between the Thai community and the non-Thai community in Perth, to promote a diverse and multicultural environment in Perth, to enhance the profile of the Thai community in Perty and to build a stronger relationship between the Thailand and Australian government.
I was lucky to have a chance to visit this festival while visiting Perth.
There were lots of people and bigger event day than I thought and all ages of people come to join this festival. I see many of Thais and various of different nationality who live in Perth and who come from another city as I've talked to some of them. They were waiting for this festival to explore Thai food, products and shows, also see many of them come withthe whole family to picnic as they buy food and sit on the mat enjoy eating together, it was a nice picture to see.
First we enjoined the main stage which they have Thai dancing and 4 provinces of Thai traditional style fasion show, some of them are an Australian wearing Thai cloths which is looks beautiful.
And the food demo - the corner to show you how to create a beautiful masterpeice from fruits and vegetables, this corner was one of the poplular corner that people come to join.
Then the various of different Thai food and deserts, they are famous food from all provinces of Thailand, lots of people walk around and try different food and shops with smiling face.. and all the food sold out.
The Thai festival is the one-day event attracted approximately 10,000 people and its a non - profit organisation consisting of vorunteers from the local community. The festival is a free community event for everyone of all ages.
Please don't missed the next Thai festival in 2010 and the coming years!
Looks amazing and nice. The contribution of people makes this very attractive and cool. I think such a festivals must be organized on very big level becasue these festivals reflect the tradition and culture. Its simply the great !
