Well I go to Thailand quite alot to visit my girlfriends family and stay for at least a month at a time. I have travelled mostly around the South and I have found Nhakon Si Thammarat and Tha Sala very relaxing. Her family has a restaurant in Tha Sala and it does quite well.

Alot of people have told me that Tha Sala can be quite dangerous but if you treat everyone witrh respect you get that in return. It's quite funny because when I walk down the street or ride my bike everyone looks at me because farang are very rare.

Most probably the reason why I like it so much. I have attached some photos for everyone to see.

Thanks for the info, Ive never been that area.

maybe you can do me a favour and others as well as help populate the location.

AusWaThai have been developing a Thailand based tourism map service, it's brilliant for tourists as well as local Thai business

It's free to sign up (just an email address) and then you can add venues by location, including photos and guest book comments

here is a link to the introduction: http://www.austhai.biz/thailand/longdo-map

We use the map extensively for our tourism project Bangkok which now works with tourism ebooks .. see more

best regards

Well its funny you mentioned tourism, because of the last week I have spent hours on a bike touring this area and places such as Sichon. I will posting new photos soon. I do have a major idea that involves boosting the tourism for this area and I have many ideas and I know how it can be done. But it will have to involve the Ministry of Tourism in Thailand, involve the locals, local business' and also involve investors. As the project I am talking about is quite large.

It is something I have pondering for a few years now and playing with different ideas, I really would like to boost their economy their and tourism would be the thing. I am currently in Thailand and when I get back I will get those photos up with stories.

If anyone is interested in my idea maybe we could start a post or something. The idea is pretty radical and I know it would work but extremely alot of hard work.
