HI, am coming to Thailand next year with a group of other Aussies and we wish to travel to Hellfire Pass for the ANZAC Day service / celebrations etc .. Would appreciate any feedback from those who may be considering also to go, or does the Bar organise a trip there .. If so, what time of notice is required etc .. Looking forward to hear from anyone with information .. smiles .. peter from Adelaide

Hi

About Hell Fire pass

you can try the search box and type the word..

Sometimes it works, sometimes you need to look for the tag words.

I searched "hell fire" and found 2 posts. I added the tag words "hell fire" now you can find them by the tag words hell fire, clic kand they appear.

About Tours - hell fire.
I went to the area (kanchanburi) a few years ago with family but we did not have enough time to visit the hell fire pass. We visited the Bridge over River kwai, the War cemetery, the jeath Musem (excellent display) and then onto the Tiger temple and back to Bangkok.  if wed had time again we would have booked to stay overnight as the area has many attractions and we would have then had time for the hell fire pass.

Sadly earlier this year my Aussie friend in Thailand was killed in a car accident on his way to the anzac memorial at Kanchanaburi (best wishes to his Thai wife khun Daa and kids).

AusWaThai building links Aussie and Thai.
one of our projects is tourism Bangkok, www.thaibis.com  with a bunch of volunteers (privately funded we help SME Thailand, just love them)...

Our campaign is to connnect Tourists with Thai people .. call it holiday helper/host/personal assistant ...  The idea of a personal concierge is a winner.
The cost is nominal, the money helps them and their wonderful charm and beautiful nature helps tourists smile.

Feedback welcome .. the site is UNDER CONSTRUCTION and as it's volunteers it moves forward spontaneously

If I did not answer you question

About hell fire tours..
The area Kanchanaburi is rated as Popular Tours in our tour Book at http://www.thaibis.com/longdo-tourism-bangkok/visitors-welcome/popular-tours

The recommended tour group is owned by a New Zealander in Bangkok (Bruce) a grumpy old man (actually quite a lovely man), likes his beer and knows his business.

When your staying in Bangkok please use A.P.A.C.  (it's the concept of using a local Thai person as a host) for specific events which can simply mean spending the day with them and meeting their friends.. it's fund everyone is more often surprised.

our Campaign.. we have a recommended area for Aussie

hi .. yes i have made heaps of progress .. my friends and i have arranged for anzac day celebrations now .. all has been arranged with accommodation, vehicle / tpt to and from kanchanaburi / hellfire pass / anzac early morning service / cemetary service / meals etc .. not sure what your friends have arranged ..

sorry to say with a long delay in making contact here with me, patience got the better of us and we arranged it fully already ..

what i do know is that accommodation in kanchanaburi is fast running out for the nights 24 / 25 april .. unless the lower grade accm is good enough ..

if you have friends wishing to do something still, maybe better to get in touch with aust embassy bangkok .. and there is a site there for anzac day with contacts etc .. otherwise get back to me if you may wish more info ..

meanwhile are you located at the aussie bar on soi 11 sukhumvit .. let me know .. as i will be in bkk on 17-21 // enroute to hong kong for the rugby sevens ..

smiles
