On the 21 August 2011, Petanque Western Australia will be conducting the State Junior Petanque Singles Championship. To participate juniors must be registered players with PWA, as the event is open to licenced players only. The Championship will be formatted on an age handicap system so no age groups are disadvantaged. Through the Subiaco Petanque Club I can arrange licences for $5.00 per junior for the 2011/12 season, and with a small registration fee to enter it becomes very affordable event for all family groups.
On the world scene Thais are are dominate force in petanque which is not suprising. There are 26,000 registered players Thailand, so after France and Spain they are the biggest petanque-playing nation in the world! So let's show Western Australia that Thai juniors are up there with the best in this country as well by getting some entries in from the West Australian Thai Community. Spread the world and get some friends together for this needs to be organized quickly.

For the record their team finished third in the woman's division of the PFA Australian Triples Championship, conducted here in WA, 2010. Registration for the event close on Thursday 18 August 2011.
