Well I dont know what to do. As a new comer to Perth myself I am still trying to find myself around. My girlfriend is here for six month, 2 of which has passed. My problem is that yes she is bored which i knew would happen. Although I am on holidays for a couple of weeks it doesnt help as to go out it costs and I struggle myself.
I have been taking her to the Temple in Serpentine to meet people but what I have noticed is that none of the Thai people talk to each other unless they come together. What is going on there? And when we do introduce ourselves it is short conversations and nothing more, even the Australian partners dont make an effort to meet each other. Makes it very hard to get to know people, which I would like her to do and my girlfriend has mentioned several times that she would like to do aswell.
Any suggestions or explanations would be greatly appreciated. I would love more than anything to know more Thai people for my girlfriends sake and mine as I love their nature and I love the language. And it would make a far easier transition for my girlfriend to migrate here in the future. Which is the plan.
Yes it seems a little odd about the local thai-aus network but there are some reasons
perhaps there is that negative perception of Thai (nightlife) that tends to make thai and aus friends of thai feel wrongly labelled and rather than protest they (buddhists) move on. It could also be the fear that their are some predators (unfortunately it's a fact of life)
