Sponsors: The website of Austhai (not Auswathai) is used as Austhai provide finanical support of the project
Progress Monthly 1 line summary added to our Projects Directory - click here
THE PRESENT as at: OBSTACLES
July 2010 - 1. Visa issues 2. Volunteers to Host visitors in WA and
May 2010 Visa - Immigration office Bangkok The latest invitee had their visa rejected - inspite of the fact they have full financial support and hosted by us ... The Immigration office in Bangkok said NO. We were in Bangkok and asked for a meeting to understand the issues but the officer/s did not have time for a meeting nor a phone discussion?... so what does one do... Ironcially if we lodge a formal query or complaint it consumes 10 times more of their time but it appears to their culture or process?
Last year the immigration Bangkok stated proudly that around 85% of visa applicants are successful? We wonder why 85% of our applicants are rejected? Is it the applicants? the procedure or the Immigration officers?

I am a committed sponsor and support of this project
What I have learnt from Thai culture
Empathy - to understand the situation from another's perspective ie., it's ok to say sorry, (it breaks down barriers.. it doesnot have to be an admission of liability and if it does well then so be it)
Respect to people of greatness be it age or Community standing (work of social), this also comes under the banner of being Polite to others
there are others and I have listed them in a webpage about why I love thailand
I enjoy to help Thai people because they are very polite and respectful, it's a quality I enjoy... I also love their food and smiles.
I think its an excellent project linking thai's with western australia.
the amount of fun I have shared with thai people of all ages and genders makes me want to experience more of the fun loving easy going culture they possess as well as showing thai's what western australia has to offer.
it would amazing to be able to be apart of something so worthwhile.
