The International Year of Youth provides an important opportunity to increase commitment to youth, promote youth participation and enhance inter-cultural dialogue and understanding among youth.
The UN Framework Approach has identified three key objectives for the International Year of Youth. These include (i) Creating Awareness – Increasing Commitment and Investment in Youth, (ii) Mobilization and Engagement –Increasing Youth Participation and Partnerships, and (iii) Connecting and Building Bridges – Increasing intercultural understanding among youth.
